E sono 32 - And now I'm 32

Ebbene sì, oggi è il mio compleanno!!! 
Yes, today it's my birthday!!! 

A 32 anni sono ancora alla ricerca della mia strada, ma finalmente inizio a vedere quale potrebbe essere la direzione da prendere. Ci vorrà tempo, ci vorrà impegno, ma almeno ora inizio a capire ciò che voglio! Niente male, per una ragazzina di 32 anni, no?! 
At 32 years old I'm still searching for my path, but finally I start to see what could be the direction to follow. It will take time, it will require committment, but at least now I start to see what I want! Not bad, for a 32 year old girl, isn't it?! 

E nel frattempo, qualche giorno di ferie per festeggiare!!! 
And meanwhile, few days of vacation to celebrate!!!

Balze, cappuccio e farfalle - Flounces, hood and butterflies

Eccolo!!! 
Il vestito che mi ha "perseguitato" per mesi, quello che non vedevo l'ora di trasformare in realtà, è finalmente pronto! Quasi non mi sembra vero! 
Here it is!!! 
The dress that "badgered" me for months, the one I couldn't wait to transform into reality, is finally ready! Seems quite too good to be true! 

Il corpino è di maglina di cotone bianca, con maniche appena accennate a coprire le spalle e profili in maglina rossa. La gonna è formata da tre balze a ruota intera in colori brillanti, dal giallo al rosso passando per l'arancione (il tessuto "introvabile"), tutte rifinite con un bordino a cordoncino (il termine inglese "piping" suona decisamente meglio!) rivestito di maglina bianca, che non solo rifinisce il bordo in maniera molto ordinata, ma conferisce anche quella bella ondulazione che si nota nella foto: riuscite ad immaginare quanto sarà bello fare le piroette con questo abito??? 
The bodice is in white cotton jersey, with barely visible sleeves to cover the shoulders and red edgings. The skirt is made of three full circle flounces in bright colours, from yellow to red passing through orange (the "nowhere to be found" fabric), all finished off with piping covered in white jersey, that not only makes the border neater but creates also those beautiful waves visible in the picture: can you imagine how funny will be to twirl around with this dress???

Sul corpino tante farfalle grandi e piccole negli stessi colori della gonna, in parte dipinte e in parte di strass, spiccano il volo in tutte le direzioni! Mettono allegria!!! 
On the bodice a lot of butterflies big and small in the same colours of the skirt, some painted and some in strasses, take off in flight in all directions! So cheerful!!!

Le farfalle sono rigorosamente dipinte a mano, una per una, così come ho posizionato ogni singolo strass: adoro la cura dei dettagli, credo che sia proprio da questi che traspaia la passione che metto nelle mie creazioni! 
The butterflies are all strictly hand painted, one by one, and I placed manually every single strass: I love caring for the details, I think that is really through them that the passion I put in my creations can show through!

E per finire il retro con cappuccio, anche questo bordato di rosso. 
And to conclude the back with hood, this too with red border. 

Sono ufficialmente innamorata di questo abito! Ne ho già iniziati altri due e non vedo l'ora di realizzarne tanti altri, le possibilità di giocare con colori e decorazioni sono infinite! 
I'm officially in love with this dress! I already started other two and I can't wait to realize many more, the possibilities to play with colours and decorations are endless!

Anello rosso 2 - Red ring 2

Capita che, mentre sono tutta concentrata sul cucito, mi arrivi una richiesta per una creazione di bigiotteria. 
It happens, while I'm all concentrated on sewing, to receive a request for a custom jewelry. 

Ovviamente non si dice di no, anche perchè mi piace spaziare da una tecnica all'altra! 
Obviously I don't say no, also because I like to switch between one technique and another! 

Così ecco un anello in pietre di vetro e acrilico rosse e trasparenti, con base argentata nichel-free di misura regolabile. 
So here is a ring with red and transparent stones in glass and acrylic, with silver-coloured base nichel-free and adjustable in size. 

E' sempre divertente scegliere le pietre e vedere che effetto possono fare a seconda di come vengono combinate! 
It's always funny to choose the stones and see their effect in different combinations!

La maledizione della maglina arancione - The curse of the orange knit

Ci credereste che nelle ultime settimane ho girato ben CINQUE negozi di tessuti senza trovare della maglina di cotone arancione??? Io stessa non volevo crederci... 
Could you believe that in the last weeks I visited FIVE fabric stores without being able to find some orange cotton knit??? I myself couldn't believe it... 

Neanche cercassi qualcosa di particolarmente elaborato, che so, un tessuto rosa ciclamino sfumato azzurro cielo con disegni di elefanti che ballano il tango!!! No, cercavo della semplicissima Maglina. Di cotone. Arancione. 
Not that I was looking for something particularly elaborated, I mean, some cyclamen fabric with sky blue shades and printed with elephants dancing the tango!!! No, I was just looking for plain Cotton. Orange. Knit. 

Quando al SESTO negozio l'ho trovata mi sono quasi commossa! 
When at the SIXTH store I found it I was quite moved! 

Questa interminabile ricerca ha ovviamente rallentato la realizzazione dei nuovi abiti, ma ora finalmente ci siamo quasi! 
This endless search obviously delayed the realization of the new dresses, but now I'm quite there!  

Voglio solo rifare un paio di sezioni che non sono venute esattamente come le immaginavo. Si sa, le prime prove funzionano così, per raggiungere un buon risultato bisogna continuare a rifare, sistemare e modificare! 
I just want to redo a couple of sections that didn't come out exactly as I imagined them. You know, first attempts always work in this way, to reach a good result one needs to redo, fix and modify over and over again! 

E volete sapere una cosa? Io di questi abiti sono già innamorata persa!!! 
And you know what? I'm already in love with those dresses!!!

In una vetrina - In a shop window

So che è solo un piccolissimo passo, ma... che emozione vedere i miei portachiavi esposti in una vetrina!!! 
I know it's only a very little step, but... how thrilling to see my keyrings in a shop window!!! 

(scusate la qualità della foto, fatta di fretta, di sera, con un vecchio cellulare... ma ero troppo emozionata per aspettare!)
(sorry for the picture quality, I took it in a hurry, at dusk, with an old phone... but I was too excited to wait!)

Ora speriamo di riuscire anche a venderli! ;-)

Casette - Little houses

Mentre prosegue la realizzazione dei nuovi abiti da bimba, oggi vi mostro una gonnellina realizzata alcune settimane fa. 
While the work on the new girl dresses is going on, today I'm going to show you a skirt I realized few weeks ago. 

Ebbene sì, ancora una gonnellina "da principessa" come quella verde e rosa e quella lilla e azzurra! Stavolta il tessuto superiore è un cotone bianco stampato con piccole casette color pesca, alberelli verdi e fiorellini. 
Yep, another "princess" skirt like the pink and green one and the lilac and azure one! This time the upper fabric is a white cotton printed with small peach houses, green trees and little flowers. 

Per lo strato inferiore ho scelto un verde in tinta con gli alberelli, rifinito in fondo con una striscia di cotone tinta unita color pesca e una serpentina bianca. 
For the bottom layer I chose a plain green fabric matching the colour of the trees, bordered with a stripe of a plain peach cotton and a white ric-rac. 

Il retro, con la mia etichetta su un lato. L'elastico in vita stavolta è rivestito in jersey verde, leggermente più chiara dello strato inferiore per dare un po' di "profondità" alla gonna. 
The back, with my label on one side. This time the elastic waist is covered with a green jersey slightly clearer than the bottom layer, to give a bit of "depth" to the skirt. 

Lo ammetto, questo modello di gonna mi piace davvero tanto! 
I must admit I like this skirt pattern a lot!
