Si avvicina l'ora X - The X time is drawing near

Ci siamo, tra pochi giorni si trasloca, e io ho come un déjà vu...

Pian piano si procede - Slowly we go along

Pian piano si procede con la nostra bella casetta!
Slowly we go along with our new beautiful home!

Ormai è praticamente a posto, la scorsa settimana anche l'imbianchino ha finito, per fine marzo prevediamo di traslocare. 
Now it is quite ready, last week the painter too finished his work, for the end of March probably we will move.

Ieri pomeriggio ero a casa per la consegna di alcuni mobili e ho iniziato a dipingere alcune mensole di legno con dello smalto bianco. 
Yesterday afternoon I was at home for a forniture delivery and I started painting some wooden shelves with white varnish.

Una volta asciutte andranno montate su questa parete arancione. Mi piacciono i dettagli a contrasto! 
Once dry they will go on this orange wall. I love contrasting details!

Non appena avrò un po' di tempo (spero già questo weekend) testerò il mio nuovo tavolo IKEA per tagliare la stoffa per la prova della parte bassa dell'abito.
As soon as I'll have a bit of time (hopefully this weekend) I will test my new IKEA table to cut the fabric for the try of the bottom part of my wedding dress. 

Il tavolo l'ho scelto bello grande (160x80cm) e con le gambe regolabili in altezza, in modo da avere un tavolo bello alto su cui sia comodo appoggiarsi per tagliare la stoffa (qui sul sito IKEA).
The table is quite big (160x80cm) and with adjustable height legs, to have a high table that is comfortable to cut the fabric (here on IKEA site). 

Volevo prendere anche un altro tavolo di altezza normale ma bello massiccio per reggere il peso e le vibrazioni delle mie due macchinine da cucire. Ma sfortunatamente quello che avevo scelto era esaurito...
I also wanted to buy  another table of normal height but quite massive to bear the weight and vibrations of my two sewing machines. But unfortunately the one I chose was sold out...

Casa - House

Dopo ben 10 mesi di attesa siamo riusciti a fare il rogito per l'acquisto della casa nuova!!! 
After more than 10 months we finally had the deed to buy our new house!!! 

Purtroppo ci sono stati casini, ritardi, e non siamo ancora alla fine... poi ci saranno da fare un po' di lavori di ristrutturazione, perchè il proprietario percedente ha tenuto la casa veramente male, non c'è nulla che non sia stato rotto, graffiato, rovinato, non una porta che si sia salvata... 
Unfortunately we had troubles, delays, quarrels, and it's still not over... then the house will need some renovations because the previous owner kept it in a very bad way, there's nothing that is not broken, scratched, ruined, not a single door that survived...

Ma abbiamo la nostra casa nuova!!!!! 
But now we have our new house!!!!!

Non avete idea di quanto sia stata contenta di avere vicino il moroso/futuromarito, sia il giorno del rogito in cui mi ha aiutata a stare calma (ad un certo punto ero così arrabbiata che avrei preso a testate il rappresentante dell'agenzia immobiliare!) sia adesso che si sta occupando di un sacco di cose. Ci sarà un motivo se voglio sposarmelo, no?!
You can't imagine how happy I am to have the boyfriend/futurehusband with me, both the day of the deed when he helped me keep calm (at a certain moment I was so angry I was tempted to headbutt the man of the estate agency!) and now that he's taking care of many things. Don't you think there's a reason why I want to marry him?!

Sopraffatta - Overwhelmed

Solo per farvi sapere che sono viva, sono tornata dalle ferie già da qualche giorno e sono in pieno trasloco. Tra poco gli scatoloni avranno la meglio su di me e dovranno mandare i cani da valanga a cercarmi. E va ancora bene che non sono allergica alla polvere perchè altrimenti avrei rischiato la vita svuotando la soffitta... 
E mi sono accorta di avere ancora un milione di telefonate da fare per disdire tutto il disdicibile. 
E mi ha appena telefonato il notaio per dirmi che mancano alcuni documenti, che loro avevano chiesto già da parecchio all'agenzia immobiliare (che però a me non aveva detto niente!!!). Quindi non mi farò mancare neanche un bel giretto in comune, tanto per gradire. 


Ma sopravviverò (...forse...)

Only to inform you I'm still alive, I'm back from my holidays from few days and I'm in the midst of the moving. Soon the cartons will get the better of me and they'll have to send avalanche dogs to find me. And it's still good that I'm not allergic to dust otherwise I would have risked my life while emptying the loft... 
And I noticed that I still have to do a thousand calls to rescinde all the rescindable. 
And the notary just called me to ask for some documents they have asked long ago to the estate agency (but they didn't tell me anything!!!). So I won't miss a trip to the city hall too, just to oblige. 


But I'll survive (...maybe...)

Scatoloni - Cartons

Mi aspetta un bel weekend di riempimento scatoloni in vista del trasloco! Domani pomeriggio verranno anche i miei genitori per aiutarmi a spostare un po' di roba (e per vedere un'ultima - o penultima - volta la mia casetta). Porteranno a casa loro un po' di cose che non prevedo di utilizzare nei prossimi mesi, mentre i vestiti e le cose che uso più spesso le porterò direttamente a Novara: ho già invaso parte del garage della futurasuocera!

I'm going to have a weekend of cartons filling for the house moving! Tomorrow afternoon my parents will come to help me moving some of my stuff (and to see for the last - or last but one - time my sweet house). They'll take at their home some things I'm not going to use in the next months, while I'll take my dresses and the things I use more often directly to Novara: I'm already invading my futuremotherinlaw garage!

Considerando che tra una settimana partirò per il mare, mi restano solo due weekend per completare il trasloco... PANICO!!! 

Considering that I'll leave for the sea in one week there are only two weekends left to complete the moving...  PANIC!!!

Devo ricordarmi anche di fare qualche foto alla mia casetta fintanto che ci sono ancora i quadri appesi (anche se le foto di Parigi che erano appese nell'ingresso le ho già tolte e imballate). Altrimenti mi ritroverò senza neanche un ricordo della mia prima casetta!

I have to remember to take some pictures of my sweet home while there are still paintings on the walls (even if I already packed some pictures of Paris that were in the entrance). Otherwise I'll found myself without a keepsake of my first house!

Tra l'altro mi piacerebbe anche riuscire a godermi un po' la mia Milano, vediamo se riuscirò ad incastrare tutto.

Among other things I'd like to enjoy also my Milan, let's see if I'll manage to do everything.

Nel frattempo ho anche ripreso in mano l'abito da sposa: dopo aver dovuto scucire tutto a causa delle misure sballate della parte superiore ho finalmente imbastito la nuova versione. Ho provato ad indossarla (con ovvi problemi tecnici, dovendomi appuntare addosso gli spilli da sola) e sembra che ci siamo, stasera dovrei trovare il tempo per cucirlo così finalmente potrò fare vedere i progressi a mia mamma: ogni volta che ci vediamo il vestito è sempre scucito per un motivo o per l'altro... 

Meanwhile I also started again to work at my wedding dress: after the last unstitching for size problems on the upper part I finally basted the new version. I tried it on (with obvious problems, since I have to pin it on me all by myself) and it seems we are there, this evening I should sew it so tomorrow I can show the progress to my mum: every time we meet the dress is unstitched for some reason...

Forse dovrei concentrarmi su una cosa per volta, tipo il trasloco che è imminente, ma è più forte di me!
Maybe I should focus on one thing at a time, for example the moving that is imminent, but I just can't help it!

Cambiamenti - Changes

Ultimamente sto cercando di cucire più cose possibili e di portarmi avanti con il mio abito da sposa perchè tra pochi mesi avrò decisamente meno tempo da dedicare a queste attività: da fine luglio lascerò la mia casetta e mi trasferirò a casa del moroso, nell'attesa di trasferirci poi (si spera entro fine anno) nella nostra nuova casa!
In the last period I'm trying to sew as much as possible and to proceed with my wedding dress as far as I can because in few months I'll have definitely less time for these activities: at the end of July I'll leave my home to move to the boyfriend's one, awaiting to move (hopefully within this year) to our new home!

Mi aspetta un'estate impegnativa con un doppio trasloco e con l'inizio della mia vita da pendolare. Ora abito a Milano, a pochi chilometri di distanza dall'ufficio dove lavoro, da fine luglio invece vivrò a Novara e farò avanti e indietro con i mezzi, dovrò prendere 5 diversi mezzi pubblici per arrivare in ufficio (solo andata, quindi in tutto 10 mezzi al giorno).
I'll have a very busy summer with a double move and with the beginning of my life as outlier. Now I live in Milan, few kilometers from the office where I work, from the beginning of July I'll live in Novara and will go to work using public means of transport, I'll need 5 different to reach the office (one way, so on the whole 10 means per day).

Probabilmente  a casa del moroso avrò anche qualche problema di spazio per tenere e utilizzare le mie macchinine da cucire. Questo significa che le mie attività di cucito subiranno un deciso rallentamento. Perciò devo approfittarne finchè posso!!!
Probably in the boyfriend's home I'll have too few space to keep and use my sewing machines. This means that my sewing activities will come to a setback. So I have to make the most of my time till I can!!!

L'intenzione però, almeno nei mesi di transizione tra casa del moroso e la casa finale, è di dedicarmi ad altre attività che necessitano di meno attrezzatura e meno spazio (e possono anche essere fatte in treno) : mi dedicherò a ricamare bavaglini e a lavorare all'uncinetto per il/la bimbo/a di mia sorella!
The intention, at least in the transaction period between the boyfriend's home and our final home, is to apply to other activities that require less equipement and space (and can be done also on a train): I'll embroider bibs and crochet supplies for my sister's baby!
