Corpino 2 - Bodice 2

Seconda versione del corpino con le stecche, direi che stiamo andando nella giusta direzione!

Second version of the bodice with boning, I think we are moving in the right direction! 

La forma del seno va decisamente meglio, così come le cuciture sul davanti che ora non hanno più grinze. 

The breast shape is now better, and so are the seams on the front that are now without wrinkles.

La prossima modifica sarà abbassare di qualche centimetro la parte dietro perchè così mi dà un po' fastidio sulle scapole quando mi muovo, e stringere ancora un pochino la parte davanti in alto, così che stia bella ferma. 

Next modification will be to lower the back part for few centimeters because now it's not so comfortable for my shoulder blades when I'm moving, and to shrink a bit more the upper front part, to make it more steady.

Ora che sono arrivata a questo punto voglio dirvi perchè sto cercando di fare un corpino del genere: io e il moroso abbiamo deciso di sposarci e mi piacerebbe realizzare da sola il mio vestito da sposa!!!!! 

Now that I'm at this point I'll tell you why I'm making this bodice: I and my boyfriend are getting married and I'd like to sew my wedding dress by myself!!!!!

Ovviamente so che è una impresa titanica, quindi per ora voglio solo provare a realizzarne qualche parte singolarmente per vedere se sono in grado. Se vedrò che è troppo complicato potrò sempre ripiegare su un negozio di abiti da sposa, ma almeno ci avrò provato! Nel peggiore dei casi avrò comunque imparato qualche tecnica nuova!

I obviously know this will be a titanic undertaking, so for now I'm just trying to realize some part of the dress separately to see if I'm able to make them. If I'll see it is too complicated I will fall back on a wedding dress shop, but at least I'll know I made an attempt! In the worst I'll anyway learn some new technique! 

In futuro però eviterò di mettere foto sul blog, tranne forse qualche dettaglio, per non togliere la sorpresa a chi mi vedrà poi dal vivo in abito da sposa! 

In the future I won't put pictures on this blog, except maybe some small details, to avoid wasting the surprise to those who will see me in my wedding dress in person!

Corpino 1 - Bodice 1

Ho terminato il primo tentativo di corpino con le stecche, devo dire che lavorare con le stecche è stato meno complicato del previsto, ma ci sono diverse cosine che vorrei modificare. 

I completed the first attempt of bodice with boning, let me say working with boning has been less complicated than expected, but there are some things I'd like to improve.

Innanzi tutto sono rimaste alcune grinze nelle cuciture sul seno, devo riuscire a guidare meglio la macchina da cucire sulla stoffa rinforzata. Ci vorrà un bel po' di allenamento! 

First of all there are small wrinkles in the breast seams, I should learn how to steer the sewing machine on reinforced fabric. I just need practice!

Il corpino è rimasto un po' lento sulla schiena: io ho la schiena molto diritta e questo difetto me lo fanno quasi tutti i vestiti! In più non mi piace molto il davanti, la forma del seno è troppo allungata verso il basso per cui quando lo indosso ne rimane una parte vuota. E poi non mi entusiasmano le due "punte" sul davanti, voglio provare con un taglio diritto.

The bodice is a bit loose on the back: I have a very straight back and this fault is common to quite all the dresses I wear! Moreover I don't like the front shape very much, the breast shape is too lengthened to the bottom so when I wear the bodice a part of it remains empty. And I'm not enthusiastic about the "points" on the top, I'd like to try with a straight cut.

Ora inizia il secondo tentativo, ho già modificato il cartamodello e scucito il corpino (non mi va di buttare via stoffa e rinforzo), prossimamente qualche aggiornamento! 

Now let's go for the second attempt, I already modified the pattern and unsewn the bodice (I don't want to throw fabric and Vilene away), soon some update!

Boning in progress

Il corpino con le stecche procede (anche se a rilento, il tempo che mi resta dopo una giornata in ufficio va diviso tra spesa e faccende casalinghe varie, corpino e altre creazioni dell'ultimo momento).
The bodice goes on (even if slowly, because after the office I have to do houseworks, work at the bodice and also at some other last-minute creations).

Ho stirato i rinforzi su fodera e stoffa esterna e ho già assemblato le due parti separatamente, cucendo anche i binari in cui andrà inserito il nastro rigido per stecche.
Vilene already ironed on lining and outside fabric, and I already sewn the two parts separately, included the tracks for the boning tape.
E' quello arrotolato sulla sinistra, in attesa che le due parti vengano unite per poi essere inserito!
The tape is the one rolled up on the left, waiting for the two layers to be put together!

Stecche - Boning

Ora che ho la mia macchinina da cucire mi sono lanciata su un nuovo progetto: un corpino con le stecche!

Now that I have my new sewing machine I started a new project: a bodice with boning!

Questo è solo un primo tentativo, fatto con pezzi di un vecchio lenzuolo (vi ricorda qualcosa?!) basandomi su un modello preso da Burda. A dire la verità non mi piace particolarmente come modello, ma ho deciso di fare un passo alla volta: prima imparare a mettere le stecche, poi modificare il cartamodello per adattarlo ai miei gusti.

This is only a first attempt, made with pieces from an old bed sheet (remember anything?!) using a pattern from Burda. To be honest I don't like the pattern very much, but I decided to proceed by steps: first learning how to use boning, then trying to modify the pattern.

E i MiniBodyBù che erano rimasti in sospeso?! Tranquilli, non mi sono dimenticata!!! Sono a buon punto, prossimamente le foto e la spedizione a Cuore di Maglia!

And the MiniBodyBù that were in pending?! Don't worry, I didn't forget them!!! They are quite completed, I will soon post the pictures and send them to Cuore di Maglia!
