Usefulness of the pacifier clip

I don't know about you, but I think the pacifier clip is a great invention. Without it our pacifier would be on the floor every two minutes. Now Alessio is able to grab objects and one of his favorites is the pacifier: he grabs it and turns it until he manages to put it in his mouth in the right way all by himself! Sometimes he succedes, sometimes it slips off his hand and it would fall to the floor but for the pacifier clip. Or he forgets he already has the pacifier in his hand and tries to grab another toy suddenly releasing the pacifier. So the pacifier clip is a must have for us!

And if it's coordinated with the outfit it's even better!
 

It's important that the clip to attach it to clothes is robust but also that it doesn't damage the fabric: that's why for the pacifier clips I make, I use a metal clip with plastic inserts, robust but delicate on garments.

Another important feature is that the pacifier clips should not be made with felt: babies try to put everything in their mouth, pacifier clip included (I lost count of how many times I found Alessio biting the pacifier clip instead of the pacifier!) and with felt there's the risk it fades and the color would all go in the baby's mouth...
 

Moreover felt doesn't resist well to washing and it pills, while cotton, which I use in my pacifier clips, can be easily machine washed: practicality is fundamental with baby's clothes and accessories!

Finally, a thin ribbon can make it possible to attach the dummy clip to all types of pacifiers, from those with a built-in plastic ring to the MAM pacifiers: you only need to slip the ribbon into one of the pacifier holes, so easy!

Portaciuccio cuore e ciliegie - Heart and cherries pacifier clip

Anche questa settimana ce l'ho fatta, sono riuscita a scrivere un nuovo post!
Dopo qualche mese di "abbandono" del blog sembra che riuscirò finalmente a tornare a scrivere con regolarità, che bello!
Even this week I made it, I was able to write a new post!
After few months of "neglect" of this blog it seems I'm able again to write quite regularly, I'm so happy! 

La creazione di oggi è un portaciuccio con piccole ciliegie stampate e un bel cuore rosso in feltro: proprio in tempo per San Valentino!
Today's creation is a pacifier clip whit tiny printed cherries and a cute red felt heart: just in time for Valentine's Day!

Ho utilizzato lo stesso tessuto con ciliegie che avete già visto per l'abito bianco e rosso e per la gonnellina da principessa:
I used the same fabric you already saw in the red and white dress and in the princess skirt:  

in questo modo possiamo creare tanti outfit coordinati: sapete che adoro coordinare abiti e accessori!
in this way  we can create matching outfits: you know I love to coordinate clothes and accessories! 

Il portaciuccio si attacca facilmente ai vestiti con una clip di metallo argentata, anche questa a forma di cuore: all'interno ha dei piccoli dentini di plastica che permettono alla clip di far presa sugli abiti senza però rovinare la stoffa
The pacifier clip attaches to the clothes through a metal clip, heart shaped: it has small plastic teeth to firmly grab the fabric without damaging it  

Il ciuccio si attacca sul lato opposto del portaciuccio grazie ad un nastro bianco chiuso ad anello: una mamma che sta utilizzando i miei portaciuccio mi ha detto che questo sistema è perfetto non solo per i ciucci con anellino di plastica ma anche per quelli tipo MAM: basta inserire il nastro dentro uno dei fori laterali del ciuccio e il gioco è fatto!
The pacifier can be fixed on the opposite side of the pacifier clip thanks to a ring of white ribbon: a mom who is using my pacifier clips told me that this is perfect not only for the pacifiers with built-in plastic ring but also for the MAM ones: you only need to slip the ribbon through one of the side holes of the pacifier and that's it, easy-peasy!

Portaciuccio fiori e fiocchi di neve - Flowers and snowflakes pacifier clip

Oh, finalmente la prima creazione invernale di quest'anno! :-)
Oh, at last the first winter creation of this year! :-)

I miei piani negli ultimi mesi sono parecchio cambiati, ero partita ad Agosto a pianificare la collezione invernale e invece una serie di impegni, imprevisti e trasferte di lavoro hanno fatto slittare tutta la produzione e finora non sono riuscita a realizzare un singolo capo di abbigliamento invernale... 
My plans changed a lot in the last months, I started in August to plan the winter collection and yet a series of commitments, unexpected events and business trips forced me to postpone all the production and untill now I haven't realized a single piece of winter clothing...

Ma questo weekend, approfittando di qualche ora di relax a casa, ho realizzato questo portaciuccio! 
But this weekend, taking advantage of some hours at home, I realized this pacifier clip! 

Lo so, il portaciuccio è un accessorio che si utilizza tutto l'anno, non è prettamente invernale. Ma questo, sarà per i colori, sarà per il decoro realizzato in feltro di lana, sa proprio di inverno! 
I know, pacifier clips are used all year long, they are not typically wintry. But this one, maybe for the colors, maybe for the decoration made of wool felt, really feels like winter!

Il nastro è in cotone bianco e azzurro e la clip argentata è decorata con una serie di fiori e fiocchi di neve sovrapposti nei toni del blu e del verde. Un nastrino blu chiuso ad anello permette di attaccare agevolmente la clip a qualsiasi ciuccio, da quelli con anellino di plastica integrato ai MAM: basta far passare il nastrino all'interno di uno dei fori del ciuccio e il gioco è fatto! 
The ribbon is a white and blue cotton and the silver clip id decorated with a series of overlapping flowers and snowflakes in blue and green shades. Ora che è arrivato il freddo mi sento particolarmente ispirata, amo i fiocchi di neve e i toni freddi del ghiaccio e direi che questo portaciuccio rispecchia in pieno questa mia passione :-) 
Now that the cold weather is here I feel particularly inspired, I love snowflakes and the cold colors of ice and I think this pacifier clip fully reflectes this passion :-)

Oggi vi mostro il contenuto di una consegna effettuata pochi giorni fa: alcuni piccoli regali per un bambino di pochi mesi e per due bambine. La ragazza che mi ha commissionato questi regali evidentemente ha i miei stessi gusti in fatto di colori: verde e blu, sia per il bimbo sia per le bimbe
Today I'm showing you the content of a delivery I did few days ago: some presents for a boy born few months ago and for two girls. The woman who commissioned these presents clearly have my same taste for colours:  green and blue, both for the boy and for the girls

Per il maschietto, un portaciuccio in jeans con un simpatico draghetto di feltro verde (o è un dinosauro?!)
For the boy, a pacifier clip in denim with a cute dragon in green felt (or is it a dinosaur?!)

Penso che al bimbo piacerà molto vedere questo nuovo amichetto appollaiato sulla sua spalla!

Ormai sapete benissimo che amo gli abbinamenti. Così non potevo certo lasciare i due capi mostrati negli ultimi post (qui e qui) senza un accessorio abbinato:

L'invasione dei portaciuccio - The invasion of pacifier clips

Per Natale mi sono stati richiesti diversi portaciuccio: alcuni li avevo già mostrati qui e qui, ma per altri mi era stato richiesto di non pubblicarli prima di Natale per non rovinare la sorpresa alle destinatarie. Ora, finalmente, eccoli qui: una vera invasione! 
For Christmas I've been commissioned to realize several pacifier clips: some I already showed here and here, but I was asked not to show the others before Christmas not to spoil the surprise to the recipients. Now at last here they are: a real invasion!

Per un bambino potrebbe andare bene un dinosauro (o è un drago?!) in feltro verde con nastro in denim 
For a boy it could be great a dinosaur (or it is a dragon?!) in green felt with denim ribbon

oppure un maestoso leone! 
or a majestic lion!

Ad una bambina invece potrebbe piacere una farfalla rossa con nastro fantasia pieno di fiori, coccinelle e farfalle

oppure un fiore color pesca su un nastro bianco con fiorellini e minuscole casette in tinta

Come vedete, ho realizzato più di un portaciuccio con lo stesso soggetto ma tutti hanno un dettaglio che li rende pezzi unici: com'è giusto che sia per tutte le creazioni handmade!
As you can see I realized more than one clip with the same subject but all have a small detail that makes them unique pieces: as all handmade creations should be!

Eccone qui uno pronto per essere confezionato: ogni portaciuccio è fornito corredato dal mio biglietto e avvolto accuratamente in carta velina bianca 
Here is one ready to be wrapped: each pacifier holder is delivered together with my card and carefully wrapped in white tissue paper
