Benvenuta Anna - Welcome Anna

Vi serve un'idea per un regalo per una bimba appena nata?! Potreste prendere spunto dal regalo di benvenuto per la piccola Anna, venuta al mondo pochi giorni fa! 
Do you need an idea for a present for a newborn girl?! You could take inspiration from the welcome present for little Anna, who came into the world few days ago! 


Per cominciare una torta di pannolini decorata con nastri e fiori nei toni del rosa. Sarà sicuramente utilissima alla neo-mamma! 
To begin, a diaper cake decorated with ribbon and flowers in pink shades. It will be really useful to the new-mum! 

Il decoro in cima è stato fatto seguendo il tutorial pubblicato qui, utilizzando nastri di organza e strisce di tulle. Per la torta ho utilizzato la stessa tecnica delle precedenti torte (link al video tutorial in questo post). 
The decoration on the top is realized following the tutorial published here, using organdi ribbons and tulle stripes. For the cake I used the same technique of the previous ones (link to the video tutorial in this post). 

Inoltre ecco un paio di bavaglini, che sono sempre utili! Uno ricamato a punto croce con un tris di golose fragoline
Moreover here are two bibs, that are always useful! One cross-stitched with a tris of tasty strawberries

e uno con un cagnolino, visto l'amore della sua mamma per i cani e in particolare per il suo bassotto. 
and one with a puppy, knowing the love of her mum for dogs and particularly for her dachshund. 

Chissà come il cagnolino avrà preso l'arrivo della bimba, speriamo non sia geloso!!! 

I wonder how the dog reacted to the arrival of the little girl, I hope it won't be jealous!!!

Finora mi aveva frenato la paura di non avere abbastanza tempo di aggiornare la pagina: mi fanno un po' di tristezza le pagine che sembrano quasi "abbandonate" perchè aggiornate molto di rado... Ma ho deciso che posso farcela ad aggiornare almeno due/tre volte a settimana e credo che questo come inizio possa andare bene! 
Till now I was held back by the fear not to have time enough to update the page: I feel sad about pages that seem quite "abandoned" because very seldom updated... But I decided that I can make it to update at least two/three times per week and I think that as starting point it can be ok!

I pantaloncini del piccolo marinaio - The baby sailor shorts

I pantaloncini del completo del piccolo marinaio hanno talmente tanti dettagli che si sono meritati un post a parte! 
The shorts of the baby sailor outfit are so rich in details that they deserved a post on their own! 

Il tessuto, leggermente elasticizzato, è un denim leggero azzurro che ho combinato con un cotone bianco per realizzare alcuni dettagli. 
The fabric, slightly stretchy, is a light turquise denim that I matched with a white cotton for the details. 

Sul fondo due falsi risvolti creano un motivo decorativo ottenuto semplicemente applicando due strisce di tessuto tagliato in direzione perpendicolare al tessuto principale. Sul ogni fianco ho aggiunto una piccola aletta trattenuta da un bottone a pressione argentato, uguali a quelli utilizzati in vita. Tutti i dettagli sono ribattuti con filo a contrasto bianco, che richiama il colore della maglietta. 
On the bottom two faux-cuffs create a decoration created just by applying two stripes of fabric cut in perpendicular direction of the main fabric. On each side I added a small flap pinned with a silver snap, like the ones I used in the waist. All the details are marked by a contrasting seam in white thread, matching the colour of the t-shirt. 

Le tasche, con fodera interna in cotone bianco e ribattitura a contrasto bianca. 
The pockets, with white cotton lining and contrasting white seam. 

In vita tre bottoni a pressione argentati. 
In the waist three silver snaps. 

All'interno, sul retro, ho applicato un elastico ad occhielli con due bottoni trasparenti per poter regolare facilmente la misura dei pantaloni: si sa, i bimbi crescono talmente in fretta! 
Inside, on the back, I put an elastic band with eyelets and two transparent buttons to easily adjust the waist size: you know, children grow so fast! 

Per finire, un dettaglio del retro con l'arricciatura in vita dovuta all'elastico e ovviamente la mia etichetta! 
Finally, a detail of the back with the gathering created by the elastic band and obviously my label! 

Che ne dite, il piccolo marinaio può essere soddisfatto?! Io già me lo immagino mentre gioca sulla spiaggia oppure va insieme al nonno a vedere le barche al porto: che bello!

Un piccolo marinaio - A baby sailor

Solitamente realizzo quasi esclusivamente abbigliamento per bambine, sarà perchè ci sono molte più possibilità nell'abbigliamento femminile (gonna? a ruota? con le rouches? a balze? abito? maglietta? bolero? pantaloni? leggings?) rispetto all'abbigliamento maschile (pantaloni... maglietta... che altro? pantaloni l'ho già detto?!), sarà perchè le mie "cavie" sono quasi tutte bambine (le figlie delle mie amiche) ma soprattutto perchè la mia fantasia mi presenta sempre capi d'abbigliamento che mi piacerebbe indossare se fossi io stessa una bimba!!! 
Usually I realize quite only clothes for girls, maybe because there's more choice in the feminine clothing (skirt? twirly? rouched? with flounces? dress? shirt? bolero? throusers? leggings?) than in the male clothing (trousers... shirt... what else? did I already mention trousers?!), maybe because my "testers" are quite all girls (the daughters of my friends) but mainly because my fantasy always shows me clothes that I'd love to wear if I were a little girl!!!

Ma ogni tanto ci vuole un cambiamento! Così è nato questo completino

But sometimes I need a change! So I created this outfit size 18 months: 

Ispirato al mare, alle vacanze estive, ai giochi in spiaggia e alle passeggiare al porto per guardare le barche! 
Inspired by the sea, summer holidays, playing on the beach and walking at the harbour to watch the boats! 

La maglietta è in jersey bianco con bordi in jersey blu (realizzati sempre con la tecnica di cui vi avevo parlato in questo post)
The shirt is in white jersey with blue borders (realized with the technique I mentioned in this post)

Al centro ho realizzato una applicazione a forma di barca stilizzata, con lo stesso jersey blu dei bordi e con ritagli del tessuto dei pantaloncini, per dare l'effetto di un completino vero e proprio. Tutte le parti della barca sono applicate con zig zag con filo a contrasto. 
In the middle I realized a decoration in the shape of a stylized ship, with the same blue jersey of the borders and scraps of the shorts fabric, to create a really matching outfit. All the parts of the ship are applied with zig zag in contrasting thread. 

Nei pantaloncini mi sono davvero sbizzarrita con i dettagli: ho impiegato una vita a realizzarli ma ne valeva la pena! Descrizioni dettagliate e tantissime foto nel prossimo post!
In the shorts I put a huge lot of details: it took a lot of time to realize them but it was worth the effort! Detailed description and many pictures in the next post!

Tecniche di cucito - Sewing techniques

Girovagando su Pinterest ho scovato nelle ultime settimane un sacco di tecniche davvero interessanti, che mi sono state utilissime per realizzare l'abito con balze e cappuccio. 
Browsing through Pinterest I saw in the last weeks a lot of very interesting techniques, which I found really useful to realize the dress with flounces and hood. 

Come promesso, eccovi alcuni link: spero possano essere utili anche a voi! 
As promised, here are some links: I hope they can be useful to you too! 

Iniziamo con un espediente davvero semplicissimo (perchè non ci ho pensato prima!!!) per tracciare le parti del modello su stoffa tracciando allo stesso tempo anche i margini di cucitura tutti uguali. 
Let's start with a simple trick (why didn't I think about it before!!!) to mark pattern pieces on the fabric, marking also even seam allowances at the same time. 

In passato avevo sempre tracciato i margini di cucitura "ad occhio" e perdevo poi un sacco di tempo a far combaciare tutte le parti prima di cucire. Con questo semplicissimo trucco invece far combaciare le parti dell'abito è stata una vera passeggiata! 
In the past I always marked seam allowances "by eye" and then lost lot of time making the fabric pieces match before sewing. With this incredibly simple trick matching the fabric pieces is now a bed of roses! 

Proseguiamo con una favolosa tecnica per rifinire scollo e giromanica nei capi di jersey. 
We can go on with a wonderful technique to finish up the neckline and armholes of knit clothing. 

Avevo già provato diverse tecniche ma non ero mai completamente soddisfatta del risultato, ma da quando ho provato l'ultima tecnica suggerita in questo post ho deciso che è in assoluto la mia preferita! L'esecuzione è semplice e il risultato perfetto: cosa chiedere di più?! Nel post trovate anche diverse altre tecniche, nel caso voleste provare qual è la più adatta a voi! 
I already tried some techniques but I was never really satisfied with the result, but when I tried the last technique suggested in this post I decided this is my favourite! The execution is simple and the result perfect: what more could I ask?! In the post you can also find many other techiques, in case you want to try what works best with you!

Per finire, parliamo del fondo delle balze. 
Finally let's talk about the bottom of the flounces. 

Nella prima versione del vestito avevo rifinito le balze con un orlo basso eseguito con la taglia e cuci ma non ero soddisfatta del risultato: poichè le balze sono a ruota intera in alcuni punti il dritto filo della maglina era perpendicolare al bordo e in altre era parallelo, per cui il bordo assumeva una ondulazione irregolare che non mi piaceva molto... Ma quando ho visto questo post di MammaNene ho subito capito come avrei potuto rifinire le balze: il piping! E adoro il risultato finale! 
In the first version of the dress I finished off the flounces with my serger machine but I was not satisfied with the result: being full circle flounces there were points where the straight grain of the jersey was perpendicular to the border and others where it was parallel, so the undulation of the border was kind of irregular and I didn't like it... But when I saw this post from MammaNene I immediately understood how to finish of the flounces: piping! And I love how it turned out!

E sono 32 - And now I'm 32

Ebbene sì, oggi è il mio compleanno!!! 
Yes, today it's my birthday!!! 

A 32 anni sono ancora alla ricerca della mia strada, ma finalmente inizio a vedere quale potrebbe essere la direzione da prendere. Ci vorrà tempo, ci vorrà impegno, ma almeno ora inizio a capire ciò che voglio! Niente male, per una ragazzina di 32 anni, no?! 
At 32 years old I'm still searching for my path, but finally I start to see what could be the direction to follow. It will take time, it will require committment, but at least now I start to see what I want! Not bad, for a 32 year old girl, isn't it?! 

E nel frattempo, qualche giorno di ferie per festeggiare!!! 
And meanwhile, few days of vacation to celebrate!!!
