Many years ago during summer holidays (ah, how wonderful were the long summer holidays when we were at school...) I crocheted a small bag using mulinè cotton in rainbow colours. Is was really small, the exact size to host my wallet, my phone and handkerchiefs, conveniently fitted. At that time I hated having to carry a bag with me, so the smaller, the better!

With time I started to need bigger bags, and the small crocheted bag was forgotten. But some weekends ago while visiting my parents I discovered that my mum is using it again! Well, it's too small to use it as everyday bag, but it's perfect to keep the keys and phone during a walk in the country!

So I decided to take some pictures of the bag. Obviously I didn't have my camera with me, so I used the  boyfriend's phone.
The bag is made with seven crocheted stripes in double crochet, one for each colour of the rainbow, sewn together and then folded to form a small a rectangle with flap on the top. At the side borders and on the flap I crocheted a line of single crochet in blue yarn.

Un dettaglio della lavorazione
A detail of the texture
I applied a zipper (with a bag so small everything would have jumped out at the first step without a proper closure) and added a strap in blue cotton in double crochet.
Then I added two pieces of blue yarn inside the strap, parallel to the long borders, to avoid the crocheted part to loose consistency with time and the strap to become too long.

As you can see also at that time I used to sign my creations!
